Because of my late enrolment, I acctually missed Commercialisation's workshop 1 and 2. However, I went to video shop to rent "The Social Network" video to watch. My first blog will focus on talk about this topic. Before I saw the video, Social Network let me think about the moive The Social Network which is very hot in Oscars 2011. The Movie talked about the story of the creator of facebook. And give us much information of facebook. So I think the online networking may relative to contents of workshop.
Social networking is defined as the putting individuals together into to specific groups, often like small different communities or neighborhoods. Social networking is the practice of expanding the number of one's business and/or social contacts by making connections through individuals. With the development of internet, social network is not only confined to connections in society, but also
through Web-based groups established for that purpose.

2.First Attendence~international women's day!
This is my first attendence in Commercialisation's workshop. I am very happy to see so many calssmates in room, and my tutor is such a nice lady. She told me do not worry about my late enrolment, and just keep going with my assignment. Today is international women's day, so firstly I wish lady Polly McGee and all the women have a good day.
Today's content of workshop is about sales. We discuss go to market strategies and socail media as a tool for business growth. As we know, threre are many things need to be considered if some one want to run a shop or market. For instance, what goods need to be have in the market. How to sell them to the customers. How much budget the market need.etc. Here I want to focus on the different methods of sale.Distance sale and direct sale are two parts of sale methods.
Distance sale can be conducted by e-mail, webside or some other ways. In China, you can buy all kinds of goods on the largest Chinese shopping webside TaoBao. In addition, there are more and more people want to join online shopping because of the cheap price and convenient(you do not need to go to shop to choose, just find them on the web). Companies can also book their original goods from long-distance place by the internet. However, there still have many problems of distance sale. For example, you may bought a dress which is not suitable to you, amd the quality of it may not satisfied you.

You may see some people sitting in a resaurant, use his iphone to chat with firends on facebook. or, people wirte down thier moods and interesting things on the personal blogs. This is the social meda. Social media is the way that people use internet to share information with others or discuss problems. Because of social media, human being can save a lot of time, and do their job effectively. The cost of social media is very low. You do not need to print the news out, and just put it on the internet. In the same time, you save the ink fees and the labour cost. Apart from that, there are also some other advantages of social media. firstly, social media offers more opportunities than before. For example, people can put their resume on the human resource webside to find a job. Many people open online shop to sell goods online. Secondly, social media give shy people a stage to show themselves. As we know, there are many people become very hot on the internet because of their photos, blogs ect. I have a friend. She always becomes nervous when she talks with new friends. However, she is very popular on douban(a famous Chinese online community which can share your favourite film, books and music.) Because her film and books reviews are very funny.
Social media also have many advantages. people need to use it in a correct way. Just like this, social media could becomes more and more useful in our future life.

4.The changes with development
with the development of world, the leaders of the companies do not want to insist in traditional style to sell their products, for the new business, some ways can be used to increase the visibility and attract people to purchase the products or services, for instance, the advertisements and the blogs.
There are some obviously benefits for the advertisements. Firstly, they told the customers what the main features about the products, the customers can clearly see what the products are and decide to buy them or not. Secondly, they help the businesses to earn profits. Because the visibility of the products is increase with the advertising, so with the huge numbers of products were sold, the most profits were earned. Thirdly, the advertising is the direct communication, in earlier days customers believed on the opinions of retailers, people have become aware of the various products that are available in the same category and benefits of purchasing them.
The blogs also raise the benefits of the business. Firstly, it establishes expertise and credibility. To increase the profit, the businesses should do the best job of solving the customer’s problem. The blog can be established for the service or the products, and also the benefits it provides to buyers. Secondly, the blogs create a dialogue. Blogs in contrast are interactive, a businessman take a position on an industry issue, a customer can leave a comment, the businessmen respond, and another customer read the issue and the responds. That creates reader engagement.

This lecture's content is relative to my former study on law side. There are four elements about IP(intellectual/ industrial property). They are Copyright, Design, Patents, and Trade marks.
In this part, I want to focus on the introduction about Copyright and Design.

Before we run a company or market, it is very important to make a plan. A good plan could help people who want to invest in this market have a good start. there are many advantages and usage of planning. firstly, if a person got a plan when he start to operate this company, he could also has a clear mind and structure. for instance, what dose this market going to sell? what are the features of these product? how could these product be relatived to customers?
secondly, if the plan existed, the person could understand that how much money should be put into this investment. how long could cost recovery? thirdly, after the market running, the invester could compare the actual operation with the plan to find some problems. As the result, he could know how to solve it and obtain more experience. he could become a experienced business man in the future.
In my view, I want to open a cafe bar after I have some savings. sometimes, I'd like to make a structure of my future shop in my mind. what types of goods could be sold in my bar? how many people I need to hire? where is the bar be allocated? although this plan is not be finished, this also help me practice my business running ability.

9.Run a small business
Considering I’m still a university student , if I’m going to run a small business on my own, convenience and low cost would be my first two choices. Given that , I would choose to open a shop on the internet.
My biggest advantage is that I don’t need to pay house rent for my shop. Because it’s only a virtual entity. It means very little risk for me to take. And that’s important.
Second , internet gives the consumers very much convenience to scan the provided goods , ask questions and make deals. And I also don’t have to get up early and stay all the day at my shop . All I need to do is being online , either on the computer or on the cell phone.
Being a foreign student , having a lot of friends with different nationalities will be another very big advantage of mine. This shop is going to sell a variety of goods from different countries . When people wants to buy foreign products , they no longer need to go abroad themselves , because my shop will do this job for them . They may pay a little higher price for it , but certainly cheaper than going abroad . The goods are not like the traditional imported goods , because I’m not gonna do a large scale purchase. Instead , it needs people to order first, then my friends will bring them back in this country and sell them to the orderer. Basically our shop targets mostly on some specific goods, let’s say , something that only in that country can be bought or something that’s difficult to find . Like old scarce CDs etc .And consumers can afford the time too. If possible, we can also ask our buyers abroad to do some shopping while the big sale begins. At that time, we can get a lower cost and therefor higher profit. Of course our profit consists my friends’ salary and mine.
With a little time and good relationships with friends , this is a all-happy-ending deal.
10.business strategy
Today, I want to talk about some information of business strategy and show some personal opinions as well. what is business strategy and how does its study help businesses in our daily operations? In my opinion, there are five parts including in this question. they are: 1:prodution 2:product 3:selling 4:marketing 5:social marketing. They are based on the marketing mix. They use them to evaluate their objectives and actions.
The best business strategies must steer a course between the inevitable internal pressure for business continuity and the demands of a rapidly changing world. Andrew Grove, who led Intel to greatness, makes a clear distinction between strategic action and strategic plans. He believes that business strategy models should not: just be statements of intent; come across like a political speech; have concrete meaning only to management; concern themselves with events far in the future or have little relevance to today.
according to the above information, business strategy is very important to an organisation. If the market has competitive business strategies, the sales of this market could become better and better.

Ask the customers why they would like to buy the product or service. The survey should certain the buying habit of customers. Secondly, create a simple form with multiple-choice and/or yes/no question to know what the customer actually want. Thirdly, make sure the survey is sample to understand and attractive. Then, identify the people who will fill the research, figure out the market target you want to entry. Lastly, give enough time to the respondents to answer. Do not rush them.
When you finished your survey, there are some approaches to show your work. The first way is email your survey to anybody, you can find some email list online. The second way is put a small table on the street and then ask the strangers to help you with some presents. I think the best way is that find you friends around you, and then your friends find their friends. You can get more results in these three ways.

13.Summary
How time flys, it is near the end of the unit study. Although we have lecture one time in two weeks, I also learn much from class teaching and assignment. There are many new friends I met during this semester's study as well.
from these 13 week's study, I have a clear understanding about commercialisation and also know the running history about facebook. I also have my own facebook today, and add many new local friends. In addition, there are many domains including in my study. such as business, law and envirinment. This is helps me expand my knowledge.
I also have built up some business running plan in my mind. I want to have my own business company in the future. now I have plans, and in the future I could practice. I like BAA 101 study, my teacher and classmates. It supports a relaxing environment to study and make me feel happy.
